Dairy products are full of calcium, which is well known to help strengthen your bones and can even help to strengthen your teeth. Beyond that, dairy products that are high in calcium also contain high levels of chemicals that can help to neutralize acids that are found in highly acidic food and can be easily stuck in your tooth enamel. This can help to slow down the breakdown of enamel and help to prevent gingivitis.

Another type of food that is important to eat are foods that are rich in Vitamin D. Foods that are rich in Vitamin D will help your body to absorb calcium and use if effectively, which will then allow your teeth to continue to strengthen. Some of the best examples of foods that are rich in Vitamin D are egg yolks, most fish, and mushrooms. Those that are not able to eat these foods on a regular basis will also be able to receive the same benefit by taking a Vitamin D supplement.

Eating apples, celery and carrots can help remove plaque. If you do eat sweets with sugar in it immediately brush after eating the sweets and this will help prevent cavities. Also, another interesting fact is that sweets are less harmful to teeth if eaten with a main meal, rather than between meals. Table sugar is more harmful to teeth than sugars that occur naturally in fruits and milk.
